Alicent sat outside her pavilion in the evening, having pulled one of the wooden chairs outside to relax and do some people-watching before she went to bed proper. She reflected back on the day quietly as she let the world go by. The response of the guard hadn't been anything unexpected... she was used to people giving her strange looks, and she knew why. She wasn't such an idiot that her strange looks and what they meant had passed her by. It made ever visiting King's Landing basically a non-starter. The idea of darkening her hair to blonde with some concoction of ingredients had crossed her mind more than once, but her mother wouldn't have it. Maybe that Maester from earlier would be willing to help her? Then the meetings with different people through the day. Just first impressions. Everyone at least seemed nice, and no one else had made a big deal about it.
Her hands itched for something to hold, and not for the first time she regretted not being able to convince her parents or the maester to allow her to bring a book or two from their collections.
