(D5 EE) Candlelit

[Leovall Marten]

Lighting the candles and making other finishing touches he also checks over his appearance. Dark clothes, but fashionable. In hindsight he wished he'd packed more colour. Maybe I should get some new clothes too?

With the food covered up and wine waiting to be opened and poured he wanders over to the tent entrance. Lifting the flap he hangs around just outside. He hoped he didn't look too eager.

Claryssa had worked gold ribbons into the intricate braids she'd done. She wanted to look her best for a dinner specifically meant for courtship.

The handmaid walked with her friend as far as the Marten pavilions before letting her journey on by herself. At last she came up Leovall's tent and saw him standing there. He was always handsome, but tonight especially so.

"My Lord." Kylie curtsied and smiled at the fair-haired gentleman.

"My lady." He returns her greeting with a slow flourishing bow. Although his tone was calm he was in fact very glad to see her.

"You look beautiful..." For a moment he forgets himself, but quickly makes up for it by lifting the tent flap as he steps to the side. "Please, come in. I hope you've brought your appetite."

[Kylie Redwyne]

'More than one kind, I'm sure.' Kylie thought to herself. She smiled warmly. "Thank you, good Ser. You are singularly handsome this evening."

She entered the tent, immediately surrounded by tantalizing aromas and beautiful candlelight. "This is beautiful. I thank you for doing this. I'm humbled."

"Anything to please you my lady. Come now, have a seat. Tell me how your day has been." He offers, joining her inside and moving to the table to pull out a chair for her.

She sat down and nodded her head toward him in thanks. "My day has been uneventful when compared to the last." She started, laying a napkin across her lap.

"My cousins Olymer and Lorent arrived today. I didn't get to spend much time with them, but I hope to do so soon. I attended the tournament event, of course. How could I not with you in the lists? And I visited with Lady Alicent and Lady Mariessa, before coming here; naturally the highlight." She smiled genuinely as she took a bite of her meal.

Her chair is nudged forward. "That's... probably for the best." I'm sure Claryssa would agree.

Moving around the table to collect the wine he opens it as he listens. "The jousts are later..." He says with something off in his tone. However, he smiles slightly as Kylie makes her final statement. "I'm glad to have given us both something to look forward to. Here." He fills her glass with a red, then his own. "Do you know Lady Alicent and Lady Mariessa well?"

Kylie smiled sweetly, taking in the scent of the wine before tasting it. She was happy to hear that he'd been looking forward to the evening as well. "I do. Not before the Festival, mind you, but they are both very kind. I was drawn to Lady Alicent because of her unique appearance. Truth be told, I think my cousin Lorent might be as well."

"So quick? I see..." There was a fleeting frown as he took his own seat, starting to place items onto his plate to eat. However, he was glad Kylie didn't know either too well. As far as he could tell they weren't fond of him, and if they were close that would make it much harder to get to know Kylie better. "How is Claryssa?"

[Kylie Redwyne]

"Much happier helping with my necklace than saving my neck." Her voice chuckled. "As much as I think she prefers the role of guard to Lady's Maid, she's relieved I didn't think to go to the market today."

"Aside from that, I think we're both in a bit of shock. We've managed to keep her side-profession a secret for upward of 6 years now and in the course of a day your family now knows, as does Lord Bromley. And between the two, I must say I think I trust him far less. I felt like he was holding something back from us when we went to see him about our safety concerns. Or perhaps that he wasn't alarmed enough? I'm not sure."
