Polar
Regions: The Wall, The Lands of Always Winter
From The Wall and beyond are the vast, unexplored expanses of snow-covered wastes. What areas have been ranged by the men of the Night's Watch are mostly thickly forested with Sentinel trees and Weirwoods. The Free Folk make their home here.

Continental
Regions: The North, The Neck
The North is famed for it's "summer snows", and is primarily made up of subarctic/tundra landscape. Sentinel trees are common here as well. The Neck, which lies between the continental and moderate zones, is extremely swampy to point of being all but impassable.

Moderate
Regions: The Vale, Iron Island, Riverlands, Crownlands, The Reach, Stormlands
Forming the vast majority of Westeros, the temperate/moderate zone extends from the swampland of the Neck to the mountains of the Dornish Marches. While the mountainous Vale tends to be cooler, while the rest of the region is a Mediterranean-type climate known for the forested eastern reaches and bountiful harvests. The Reach is especially famed for the variety of fruits and its extensive vineyards.

Dry
Regions: Dorne
The southern-most part of Westeros is Dorne, an arid climate that is mostly desert. Dorne also has famed wineries, though notably fewer. The grapes grow well in the heat, so long as they can be supplied with sufficient water.
