[D8 LM] Round 2: Leovall Marten vs Kevith Uller

Kevith and Reason were ready, though he was still feeling the soreness of the melee. Still, time to test out this young whelp to see if he was any good.

From across the field the young heir rode his destrier over to the squires. Dipping his head to the other knight he then lowers his visor as shield and tourney lance are passed up to him. Rolling his shoulder to test the weight of the lance he nudges Cole to move into position. As he does so he touches over his chest where the edges of two ribbons peaked from over his breastplate. One was blue and purple, the other red and gold. Smiling beneath his helm he sits up straight and waits for the signal to begin.

A bear riding a horse...

Calling Reason a horse wasn't technically wrong, but the destrier was a powerful and large creature just like it's rider - and its hooves thundered ominously as the two riders charged at eachother.

Leovall had a moment of doubt as he nudged Cole into a gallop a second after Kevith. His opponent was a huge man on a huge horse. Even sitting up high to give his lance more impact... would it be enough? The massive knight was still up even higher than himself. Lifting his shield and carefully adjusting the angle of his lance he rode on with gritted teeth.

It was probably good for Leovall that his high posture in the saddle saved him from getting hit by Kevith's lance, and the giant man was unseated instead.

Kevith groaned from his place in the dust. Sure, kid... ye can ride and hit a man in a tourney, but we both know ye'd be dead on the field of battle. Or at least that's what Kevith told himself to soothe his own bruised ego.

(5 * 4) - 9 AR = 11, even without Injury, Kevith is still in it, with 1 Health remaining; and must roll Animal Handling (Ride) at TN18 to keep his seat.

Considering himself very, very fortunate as his lance shattered when Kevith's missed he was quick to wheel Cole about for another approach. Leovall was a little surprised to see the giant of a man on the ground. There was a sympathetic wince as he tugged back on the reins. Lifting his fist in victory instead of needing to take another lance he makes sure to ride past the wooden seating. In particular he touches his chest and waves as he passes where most of the nobles sit, also lifting his visor to smile appreciatively to Lord Meadows.

After that he guides Cole from the lists so the next pair could face off.
