by Ser Elwood Meadows
Elwood was accompanied by his favourite hunting dog, Rex, a bloodhound of obvious pedigree, from the drooping face, to the flawless and gleaming bay coat, to its mournful hunting cry. The heir wasn't much interested in hunting boar or stag, he much preferred sparring in armour, but he needed to be there, for the House. His lack of enthusiasm was becoming apparent by the time the group cornered the stag, but he managed to play his part in bringing the beast down.

Ashford didn't have woodlands like Grassy Vale, and tracking deer under the boughs was a little out of reach for the neighbouring heir. He knew his way around spear somewhat, more accustomed to wielding a lance, and he felt that he had, at least, not embarrassed his House. Though he cursed not bringing his own dogs.

Rychard had been looking forward to this, he enjoyed hunting, even if he didn't get much time for it. He was accompanied by a mixed-breed mutt that looked as if it might have some wolf in its lineage, and answered to Lily. Though he was quite capable with a spear, today he brought his bow, standing back and firing his arrow into the stag's neck.

Step 2: Survival (Tracking), Hunting Dog, TN12 11 -1 Hunt

Mari was still yawning when her father woke her up to the news of a hunt, and she dressed hastily in her riding clothes. The three dogs she was the most comfortable with accompanied her. She was still too tired to notice the trail and kind of just followed along with everyone else... until they managed to corner the stag! The barking of the three dogs put her on more alert and instead of going for her bow, the more accepted lady weapon, Mari deftly used the spear that had been brought along instead to bring the valiant animal down.

Lily moved off on her own, she didn't often get allowed to go hunting in a full party, and besides they make such a ruckus. She caught sign of a large buck nearby and carefully followed its tracks until the majestic stag was in her sight. She held her breath and let a single arrow fly catching it neatly squarely in the heart. Felling it in an instant. "Yes!!! Got one!"

Finding and tracking game wasn't Leovall's strong suit, and with Liliane and Terrance each displaying their talent he ended up merely tagging along. At the very least he was helpful in safely bringing one down along with another group. However, his own group's archery had frankly been far more impressive. Nonetheless he took it in his stride, enjoying the stroll and pleased he wasn't useless.

Terrance and the hounds had difficulty finding a game trail at first. Once one of the other hunters came across something, however, it was easy enough to follow the tracks of a large stag. Once they were close, Terrance set Dyrnwyn and Doli loose. They raced after the deer, flushing it out and into his line of fire. The hunter loosed a perfect shot, easily bringing the buck down. It would be a good dinner tonight.

Really, it was a bit of a pleasure to be out hunting again. Martin moved cheerfully though the forest, although not quite as quickly or as nimbly as he did when he was younger.

The dogs began barking when they scented a deer. There was a bit of confusion and getting turned around, but Marten managed to arrive soon enough to contribute.

The feast will be bountiful, thanks to the hunter's morning efforts bringing down several deer.

Liliane Marten and Terrance Stone both gain 1 Fame Point.
