After the Feasting of the previous evening, the first Tourney display is not until the afternoon, though there are still more than a few sore heads. Spectators fill the wooden stands as steeds and riders prepare. An awed hush falls over the crowd as the first competitor moves onto the field.

Step One: We Are Style
The judges will be looking for how well the rider and steed work together.
Roll: Animal Handling (Charm), gain 1B if your steed is an Animal Cohort, Formidable (TN12)
Failure: You and your mount are not in sync. -1 Dressage Points.
Success (one+ degree): Like a wave on the ocean, you and the horse move as one. +1 Dressage Point per degree of success.

Step Two: We Are Grace
Competitors are also marked on their posture and elegance.
Roll: Agility (Balance) or Status (Breeding), gain 1B if your steed is an Animal Cohort, Formidable (TN12)
Failure: Your lack of form is a disgrace. -1 Dressage Points.
Success (one+ degree): You are flawless. +1 Dressage Point per degree of success.

Step Three: We Didn’t Fall on Our Face
Style and grace aren’t everything, you need to actually get the horse to go through their paces.
Roll: Animal Handling (Ride), gain 1B if your steed is an Animal Cohort, Hard (TN15)
Failure: The horse doesn’t do as commanded. -1 Dressage Point.
Success (one+ degree): Passage, volte, turning on the forehand, you know them all. +1 Dressage Point per degree of success.

Improving Your Score: You may make a maximum of two additional rolls, using any of the Abilities in the steps above.

Dressage Points: The player with the most Dressage Points at the end of the Display gains 1 Fame.

Rayley's technique wasn't perfect, but her breeding translated as exceptional form, moving with elegance and grace along with her elegant palomino palfrey. She was pleased with her result as she urged the pretty mare into a bow.

Rychard lacked the elegance of the noble lady who rode before him, but his training served him well enough, and he was entirely disappointed in how he showed in the display.

Astoundingly in sync, Leovall and Cole easily perform every step required. Even the challenging backwards step looks easy when the smartly dressed knight wishes it from the very large black stallion. Remaining posed and elegant throughout, clearly well practised, he gives a seated bow at the end of his display. While the performance itself was impressive so too was Leovall's mount - noteworthy perhaps for any horse breeders in the audience in need of a stud.

Terrance had intended to stay away from most of the events of the festival. He was here to watch Leo and Lilly shine. He'd drawn some attention over first two days, however, and that emboldened him. What harm could there be in riding around? Other than embarrassment...

Caim hadn't done the dressage event in a tournament in quite some time - it wasn't his strong point. But still, despite some faltering in his own balance that he ascribed to slowing reaction speeds, he didn't do badly. Not the best, not the worst.

As Marten walked Ardent out onto the field, Ardent tossed his head impatiently. Frowning, Marten leaned forward. "Now now, none of that from you." He said, firm but affectionate. Do this well, and I'll take you on a proper run, afterwards."

That seemed to appease Ardent, and even if the great beast was stubborn, he at least knew how to look good.

Though the field is dominated by strength rather than grace, the display is still marvellous, and sets the tone for the Festival.

Leovall Marten gains 1 Fame Point.
