Grassy Vale lies on the northern bank of the Blueburn River, surrounding Grassfield Keep. The town is surrounded by a simple wooden fence, beyond which lies the farms and orchards that produce the town’s exports, as well as the crafters who aren’t generally welcome within town limits, such as the furriers and leatherworkers. Further afield than that are the non-arable meadows and the Green Forest.
There are two major roads through Grassy Vale: Market and Maker’s Rows. However, there are many streets and alleys to Grassy Vale. These streets are not paved, and can be unpleasant to traverse in rainy weather. Less sunlight reaches these streets, and it is not uncommon for the buildings overhead to kiss, having collided as one side or the other settled.
The Narrow Streets are the place to find: moneylenders, apothecaries, butchers, fishmongers, grocers, spicers, etc.
